Positivity-stay positive

Are The Incredibles Using The Power Of Positivity?

This weekly post highlights positivity in the martial arts from around the world. Unfortunately, it is far too easy to find negative stories on the internet. Positive ones, however, are harder to find. Let’s recognize and celebrate those martial artists and schools who are doing good things in their communities, as well as, making great accomplishments.

You can see the last installment here.

Tai Chi, Worldwide

If you have ever read the opening paragraph of this weekly post, then you understand why I do what I do. I feel that it is THAT important to the health of humans to have a positive mindset. As a martial artist and health care practitioner, I understand the importance of how a low stress level and good sleep can affect a person’s overall health. This is where the concept of “positivity” and the art of Tai Chi are in perfect harmony. Both contribute to the lowering of stress and better sleep. Here we have an article focusing on the evidence of Tai Chi’s benefits in this area.

It is nice to see articles of martial arts schools doing good things. It is one of the best parts of what I do with the weekly Positivity Post. However, I also really enjoy seeing articles of schools that have been previously featured here. I love seeing that they are still thriving and succeeding. This is the case here with Bushido Martial Arts, previously featured here, as they continue to positively affect and change lives.

However, a newer concept in gatherings is the idea of a party with the intent to sell a good or service. I’m sure people have heard of all kinds, from Tupperware to “Fun” parties. Well, have you ever heard of self-defense parties that actually teach self-defense concepts? Well you have now! Read on.

We have all heard those stories of a burglar breaking in to a persons house. Sometimes we hear of how a home owner defended their home, scared them off, or kept them until the police showed up. How many times have you heard of someone using their martial arts training on a would-be burglar? Well, the burglar in this particular story got a crash course in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
