Many martial artists love seeing good martial arts prowess displayed on film and television. However, it isn’t always easy to know who has real martial arts chops as an actor or actress. Sometimes it is obvious with nausea-inducing cuts of the camera hiding the lack of martial arts talent. Other times the actor/actress’ martial arts talent is being underutilized or hidden. Let me take a moment to introduce you to a young up-and-coming actress who has a background in Karate and Krav Maga.

As you might have guessed, I think being able to defend oneself is very important. Many people enjoy running as a physical activity to improve their health. Unfortunately, as a runner, you could be vulnerable. Unless you are amazing at it, you might be out of breath and may not be paying attention to your surroundings. Jim Parry recently put on a self-defense class for runners in his hometown. Stay safe out there!
