Martial Journal Is Growing and Expanding!

We’re Always Working On Growing And Expanding

Over the past year, a lot of things have changed here. Some of those changes have been obvious, while others have been behind the scenes. For example, the Martial Arts Movie March Madness bracket was a lot of fun to do, and we learned a lot about how we can make it even better next time. However, behind the scenes, that promotion also helped us to solidify our movie review process. Like I said before, always growing.

Other changes you might have noticed is that we have a new logo and lots of book review content which has been the result of some of that “behind the scenes” work that I mentioned. The logo also directly led to having our very own Martial Journal t-shirt that you can purchase. You can also follow us on our Facebook and Instagram(@martialjournal) pages

So What Is Going On Now?

Now we are looking to expand within existing and new areas of content. This means that we have openings for new contributors who have a passion for martial arts and writing. Ideally, we are looking for 3-5 new contributors to join the team. The easiest and best way to join is to let us know at editors@martialjournal.com and include a draft of a potential article that you have written. Also, if you know a martial artist that likes to write, please let them know how to get in touch with us.

What Kinds Of Writers Are Wanted?

Well, all kinds! There are all kinds of styles and systems of martial arts so it makes sense that our team of contributors should be no different. Being a contributor with Martial Journal offers a writer the potential for growing their other endeavors through greater exposure here. We are always interested in people who like to write about their own experiences and learning moments in the martial arts. Specifically, we are currently looking for writers who may be interested in the following areas:

1. Book Reviewer – Get free books, write summaries, communicate with the authors!
2. Opinions Writer – Put your own content front and center on the site for others to read!
3. News Writer – Write articles covering the news and headlines of the martial arts world!
4. Event Coverage – Write articles summarizing the outcomes of local and national martial arts events and competitions!
5. MA Sports Coverage – Write articles covering the outcomes of the events from various traditional martial arts leagues (i.e. Karate Combat, One Championship, Glory Kickboxing, etc..)! (MMA coverage would only be from a traditional martial arts perspective.)
6. Movie Reviewer – We’ll pay for the movies!
7. Streaming Movie Reviewer – Help guide other martial arts movie fans to the best (or worst!) flicks on the internet.
